Abstract submission deadline - 21 May 2018

Accepted presenters notified - 11 June 2018 (now occurring week of June 18th)

Full papers due - 06 August 2018

Early bird registration closes - 10 August 2018


Papers and posters are invited on a wide range of technical subject matter relevant to the NZ minerals industry:

  • New Projects
  • Latest minerals research
  • Green minerals
  • Recent exploration results
  • Mining operations
  • Mining geotechnics
  • Mining geology and modelling
  • Operational Health & Safety
  • Regulatory issues
  • Environmental management

Plenary sessions will cover a diverse range of subjects including the changing face of the industry, advances in minerals research in NZ, including green minerals, new explorers, and the state of the industry by commentators and regulators, amongst other topics of interest and relevance to the minerals sector.

Final paper guidelines

Submission of your full paper for the Proceedings Volume is required by 6 August and should be uploaded using this Word Paper Template. This is the Paper Guidelines document to assist in the assembly of your paper. An upload link was provided in acceptance confirmations and can be re-supplied if required. Email [email protected] to request.

Submission guidelines

All abstracts must be submitted in English only.

300 words maximum

Full papers will be required on acceptance these will be in arial font only, 10 point with headings in bold.

Student Award

There is a student award for the best student paper presented at the conference.  To apply for this award students will be required to fulfil all the student criteria:

  • Submit an abstract
  • Submit a full paper
  • Produce a A0 size poster which will be displayed throughout the conference
  • Do a 5-10 minute presentation during the student plenary session

Review and Notification to Authors

All completed abstracts will be reviewed. You will be informed by email of the acceptance status of your abstract by 11 June 2018.


All presenters are required to register and pay the Conference registration fee in order to be included in the program and to present on site.


Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference publication and on the website.  By submitting an abstract, authors agree to publication of same.


Posters will be on display in the exhibition area for the duration of the conference. Posters will be in printed format. Poster size is A0.
