Ko Anaru Kapa ahau.
Ngā mihi kia koutou, ngā rangatira mā o Montessori.
In our Whānau Montessori and Māori worlds have been a focus.
Our Whānau have been involved with both our children attending a Montessori preschool and koohanga concurrently.
Marie (my wāhine toa) and myself chose these educational pathways for our daughters as they best fit our philosophical and educational value systems. We have learnt much while on this journey.
I have taught in various capacities for over 20 years, focusing on how to support the child/ person to express the fullness of their taonga in the world to make positive changes.
This focus has had a bicultural lense. There has been much learning and opportunity to grow.
I have been trained in counselling (various forms), business and education.
I am continually learning tikanga, whakapapa and growing in te reo Maori with Whānau and other sources.
My educational background includes a M.Ed in counselling and career development and degrees with sociology, psychology and business majors.
I have had the honour of completing a Diploma in Whānau strengthening and support using an Indigenous qualifications training framework.
