She has a special interest in human factors and patient safety and has lectured extensively on second victims and medical errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Presentation Topic<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The care of health professionals affected by adverse events<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adverse events in health care can have profound effects on the provider of care and can leave these individuals deeply traumatized. These providers are often called second victims and they need help. We will talk about the second victim recovery process. We will explore the support networks available in the New Zealand environment.
