Lorna Adrianne\nDavies. RN, MA, BA(Hons), DTLT, PG CERT OT (UK), PG CERT IP&C (NZ)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Originally born in\nEngland of Polish descent, Lorna emigrated with her husband in 2003 to NZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Having qualified as\nan RN in London, she completed her PGCERT in Operating Theatre Nursing at Leeds\nGeneral Infirmary before taking up a her long time ambition of a commission in\nthe Queen Alexandra\u2019s Royal Army Nursing Corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lorna\u2019s\nperioperative nursing career has allowed her to gain and develop her\nknowledge in a wide range of surgical specialities in the private, public\nand military health services, in the UK, Mediterranean and NZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the late 1990s,\nhaving managed a busy surgical obstetric and gynaecological theatre in\nNorth Yorkshire, she took a sideways step and took charge of a large\nsterile service department. In 2001 Lorna secured employment with NHS\nEstate ( Department of Health UK) as a Decontamination Consultant \nauditing SSDs throughout the UK and writing decontamination guidelines related\nto Creutzfeldt Jackob Disease .<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since emigrating to\nNew Zealand Lorna has worked in theatres at the Women\u2019s Hospital\nChristchurch, manged the day surgery unit at the Oxford Clinical,\nChristchurch, and was Nurse Educator for Mobile Health Services . <\/p>\n\n\n\n Lorna is currently\na Senior Academic Staff Member at Ara Institute of Canterbury , where she has\nworked for the past 11 years, teaching and developing courses in\n the Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Enrolled Nursing, and Graduate\nCertificate in Nursing Practice programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She lives with her husband Michael, their elderly cat and young dog in rural Canterbury.<\/p>\n\n\n\nPresentation Topic<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
