Kerr"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Michael is currently the Chief Engineer for MBIE supporting the Building System and Performance team, the team responsible for the NZ Building Code.&nbsp; He has been a practicing engineer for over 30 years.&nbsp; Previously he worked for BECA in a number of roles, most recently as Regional Manager for the central region.&nbsp; In this role he was responsible for a wide discipline team including one of New Zealand\u2019s largest buildings design team.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Michael has held governance roles on a number of large profile engineering projects including civil structures and commercial buildings.&nbsp; Prior to this he lead the design of large scale civil projects ranging from buildings, to transport, to water and wastewater.&nbsp; He is a Fellow of Engineering NZ and past president of the Association of Consulting Engineers
