He&nbsp;has extensive national and international experience in construction and risk management and was formerly&nbsp;Chief Engineer for the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment, leading the Ministry\u2019s technical work relating to the&nbsp;response and recovery from the Canterbury earthquakes, including responding to Royal Commission recommendations and implementing lessons across New Zealand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mike is a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand and a Life Member of the&nbsp;New Zealand Geotechnical Society, the&nbsp;New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering, and the Structural Engineering Society New Zealand.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mike was reappointed by NZGS and Engineering New Zealand as editor for the project.
