This year we have a diverse array of presentations from\u00a0invasive\u00a0wasps to bats and from the use of drones in ecology surveying\u00a0to tree-fern recruitment.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We also have two guest speakers: Toni Love (associate editor of the M\u0101ori Law Review) on incorporating Vision M\u0101tauranga into\u00a0research and liaising with local\u00a0iwi. Toni is of Te \u1fb9tiawa descent and is a graduate of Victoria University of Wellington and; Dr Tom Etherington (Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research) on “What to expect from the peer review process, and how to get involved with reviewing for NZ Journal of Ecology”.<\/p>\n
1. Student presentations – presentations by students to students. An award is available\u00a0for the best student presentation.<\/p>\n
2. Guest speaker – How to\u00a0get your research\u00a0published and what to expect from\u00a0the peer review process. Dr\u00a0Tom Etherington<\/p>\n
3. Panel discussion – incorporating Vision M\u0101tauranga in your research, what journal\u00a0editors want,\u00a0communicating your science and the different career pathways open to ecology graduates.<\/p>\n
