{"id":1098,"date":"2018-11-15T21:38:24","date_gmt":"2018-11-15T21:38:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.confer.nz\/manz2019\/?p=1098"},"modified":"2018-12-03T21:09:27","modified_gmt":"2018-12-03T21:09:27","slug":"speaker-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.confer.nz\/manz2019\/new-zealand-speakers\/speaker-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Anaru Kapa"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Anaru Kapa<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3>Biography<\/h3>\n<p>N\u014d Te Aup\u014duri, Maniapoto, Tainui ahau.<\/p>\n<p>Ko Anaru Kapa ahau.<\/p>\n<p>Ng\u0101 mihi kia koutou, ng\u0101 rangatira m\u0101 o Montessori.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In our Wh\u0101nau Montessori and M\u0101ori worlds have been a focus.<\/p>\n<p>Our Wh\u0101nau have been involved with both our children attending a Montessori preschool and koohanga concurrently.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Marie (my w\u0101hine toa) and myself chose these educational pathways for our daughters as they best fit our philosophical and educational value systems. \u00a0We have learnt much while on this journey.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I have taught in various capacities for over 20 years, focusing on how to support the child\/ person to express the fullness of their taonga in the world to make positive changes.<\/p>\n<p>This focus has had a bicultural lense. There has been much learning and opportunity to grow.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I have been trained in counselling (various forms), business and education.<\/p>\n<p>I am continually learning tikanga, whakapapa and growing in te reo Maori with Wh\u0101nau and other sources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My educational background includes a M.Ed in counselling and career development and degrees with sociology, \u00a0psychology and business majors.<\/p>\n<p>I have had the honour of completing a Diploma in Wh\u0101nau strengthening and support using an Indigenous qualifications training framework.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anaru Kapa Biography N\u014d Te Aup\u014duri, Maniapoto, Tainui ahau.
