Abstract submission is now CLOSED<\/strong>.\u00a0 Abstract submission deadline Friday 27 July 2018<\/b><\/p>\n Abstracts are to be no more than\u00a0300 words<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \t\t\t Thank you for your interest in participating to IDRIM 2018!<\/p>\n Following the success of previous IDRIM conferences, this annual event has become a prominent forum for all professions involved in integrated disaster risk management to present their work, debate on current challenges and practices, and “drim” about the future!<\/p>\n The overarching theme of IDRIM 2018 will be “data driven approaches to disaster risk management<\/strong>“. Submissions with a key focus on data, data assimilation and integration, modelling and analytics are particularly encouraged. The emerging areas of machine learning and artifical intelligence in the context of integrated disaster management are also highly relevant.<\/p>\n Disaster risk management presents unique challenges that require truly multi-disciplinary perspectives and contributions emphasizing such aspects are most welcome.<\/p>\n A suggested list of relevant topics that will be discussed at the conference is provided below. We look forward to receiving your submission and welcoming you in Sydney!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n – Social and Behavioural aspects<\/p>\n – Climate change and its impact<\/p>\n – Natech, Natural Hazard Triggered Technological Accidents<\/p>\n – Early warning systems<\/p>\n – Community engagement and communication<\/p>\n – Economic aspects<\/p>\n – Compound\/cascading disasters (simultaneous and\/or co-located) and Mega-disasters<\/p>\n – Practical applications of Integrated Disaster Risk Management<\/p>\n – Resilience and Vulnerability<\/p>\n – Scientific evidence-based decision-making, modelling and analytics<\/p>\n – Cross-disciplinary challenges for integrated disaster risk management<\/p>\n – Archiving and knowledge management<\/p>\n – Connecting observed data and disaster risk management decision-making<\/p>\n Special Session Proposal (SSP), Workshop Proposals (WP) submission deadline.<\/p>\n Please submit your special session and\u00a0 workshop proposals including title, rationale for the session, and tentative list of speakers to:<\/p>\n Prof. Ana Maria Cruz at: anamaria@drs.dpri.kyoto-u.ac.jp<\/a><\/p>\n
